About Ward & McKenzie Superyacht Consulting

Ward & McKenzie Yacht Consultancy are professional and independent yacht surveyors, legal consultants and project managers, providing a comprehensive service to the buyers and owners of large yachts, both commercial and private.

Over the years Ward & McKenzie have gained considerable experience in dealing with all aspects of Super Yacht Ownership, from planning new builds or refits, contracting with Sellers of Yachts, Project Management, technical inspections, legal work and ancillary issues, such as Offshore Company Incorporation and Yacht Registration.

We also specialise in VAT issues particularly relating to Commercial Charter Yacht & post Brexit issues.

We have a close working relationship with a number of highly experienced surveyors in most parts of the World, should the need arise to utilise their local expertise.

The Team

Chris Nicolle

Director and Principal Surveyor

Prior to joining forces with Ward & McKenzie group as a Director and Principal in house surveyor, Chris worked for John Winterbotham and Partners where he specialised in large yachts working on projects up to 140m. He is now heading the Ward & McKenzie survey division and coordinating with our out port surveyors, undertaking in house surveys and yacht consultancy work. Chris also undertakes Damage Assessment Surveys on behalf of a number of insurers and regularly acts on our behalf when we are appointed Experts in New Build and Refit disputes. He is now heading the Ward & McKenzie Project Management and Large Yacht Survey Division and co-ordinating with our independent outport surveyors.

Liz Girling

Office Manager & Yacht Registration

Liz joined Ward & McKenzie 24 years ago so has been involved with the growth of the company during that time. Over the years she has come to know the clients very well, which means she can give a very personal service. As clients have developed over the years, she has helped them with the purchase and registration of larger yachts. Liz co-ordinates surveys, yacht consultancy and deals with the registration of vessels in the UK, Red Ensign and further afield, e.g. BVI, Cayman, and Marshall Islands.
